Why You Should Have an Engagement Photo Session // Studio 29 Photography

Why You Should Have an Engagement Photo Session

Why You Should Have an Engagement Photo Session

Engagement photography is almost as big of a deal as the wedding photography, and the sessions are a lot of fun. If you have some idea in your head of engagement photos resembling those posed, awkward senior pictures, we’ve got a surprise for you.
Our engagement photography sessions really deserve a different name. They’re more like “lifestyle couples session” that just happens to take place while you’re engaged. The results are photographs that really speak to who you are as a couple and they capture a time in your life that will never come by again. Take a look at our portfolio to see what we mean: you’ll notice that the photos of each couple not only look different, they feel different.
There are a lot of reasons to include an engagement/lifestyle couples session:
The Images Are Really Handy
Engagement photos can be used on save-the-date cards, invitations, and your wedding website. When framed or gathered in an album, they also make nice gifts for your family members or keepsakes for you.
The Session Preps You for Your Wedding Day
An engagement session gives you an opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera, and it allows us to get to know you better as a couple. This leads to even better photography during your wedding. We absolutely love going on mini-adventures that allow me to get to know our clients + create beautiful unique images.
It Lets You Be Yourself
Wedding photos can reveal your personality, but the truth is, most of us don’t dress in tuxes and gowns and wander around being ourselves. A wedding day is special and different, and as a bride and groom, you might carry yourselves a little differently and behave a little differently than you normally would. Not only that, but many weddings often include elements upon the request of a parent or another family member that don’t necessarily reflect the choices you would have made.
During an engagement session, you can dress the way you want and style the entire session to show who you are as a couple. We can shoot in almost any location: your own home, a favorite outdoor spot, the place where you first met, or anywhere that is special and meaningful to you. We can find settings and backgrounds that we might not have access to (or time to find) on your wedding day.
Need help with your clothing? All Studio 29 Photography clients receive a 10+ page informational style guide to help them put together the perfect attire! Need location ideas! We are more than willing to send you ideas or help you scope out an ideal location for your session!
Visit our Instagram to see more lifestyle couples photos. Gather some ideas, then talk to us about who you are and what you love to do. We’ll create an engagement photo session for you that’s unlike any other…because it’s yours. Your future marriage is the most important thing to us, and we want your engagement session to be a time for you to just be yourselves and enjoy it. Have fun together. Laugh a lot. And we’ll take care of the rest!
