I photographed my best friend’s wedding and it was perfect.

Ryley and I have known each other for over 10 years – I photographed her senior portraits, taught her how to take photos when she got her first DSLR, face-timed and texted her when she moved to CA, and continued our friendship when she moved to Tampa, Florida. She encourages me, makes me laugh, never judges, is always is honest, and is always there when I need her – – even when we are 100s of miles apart. I am pretty certain telepathy just might be real.

Yesterday, I spent the morning with her while she sipped her iced coffee and got her hair and makeup done. I loved watching her stare out the window and smile anytime someone mentioned Matt’s name.

I loved watching her in the shuttle reading over her vows before the ceremony.

I loved watching her check herself out in the mirror before the ceremony making sure everything was perfect for Matt’s first glimpse of her.

I loved watching Matt struggle to hold it together when the doors opened and Ryley came down the isle. ((I looked over at Ryley’s Mom, Shawn, and we both had tears in our eyes as well. ))

I loved listening to Ryley exchange the sweetest vows to Matt. I had been wondering what she was going to say – they’ve been together for so long – but she summed everything up perfectly in a matter of minutes.

I loved taking her & Matt’s photos because I knew that was the very best gift I could give to them. I loved watching them laugh and hold each other tight.

I loved the hug you gave me (Ryley) at the end of the evening when it was time for Caleb and I to head back to our room because we had a super early flight back to MKE. I love you so much, I am so grateful to have you in my life.

Thank you, Ryley, for being the best friend I could ever ask for. I am so happy you found someone who loves you completely. Congrats!! So I’ll say it again; your was perfect.
