I had the absolute pleasure of capturing moments with Sam, her husband John, and their two beautiful daughters, Avery and Aria. From the moment they walked into the studio, the room was filled with infectious laughter and a warm, loving energy.
Avery and Aria, with their mischievous grins and sparkling eyes, are always a joy to photograph. They always bring out the playful side in Sam and John and it has me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt. It’s sessions like these that continue to remind me why I love what I do – preserving genuine, heartwarming moments that families can cherish forever!

I know how busy life can get, especially when you have little ones running around. Between diaper changes, school runs, and trying to squeeze in some “me time,” it feels like there’s never a moment to just pause and take it all in. But that’s exactly why I’m talking about something truly special—my Studio Family Photography Sessions that take place in my cozy, plant-filled, photography studio in Bay View Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Let’s start with the big question: Why should you consider booking an in-studio family photography session? Well, the reasons are as numerous as the smiles I’ll capture!
First off, there’s something magical about having professional photos of your family. These aren’t just pictures; they’re timeless keepsakes. Imagine your kids looking back on these photos years from now, remembering the love and joy that filled those moments. It’s enough to warm your heart, right?
Studios offer controlled environments where lighting and backgrounds are just right. No worrying about the weather or finding the perfect spot in your messy living room. The focus is entirely on you and your beautiful family, just as it should be.
Let’s be honest: smartphone cameras have come a long way, but they can’t compete with the expertise of a professional photographer. From capturing the perfect angle to making sure everyone looks their best, a pro can make all the difference.

Okay, so you’re sold on the idea. But what actually happens during a studio family photography session? Let’s break it down.
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by me, Ren Lenhof, your friendly photographer who knows how to make you feel at ease.
My goal is to make my portrait sessions as fun and relaxed as possible. So, don’t worry if your toddler decides to have a mini-meltdown or if your teenager isn’t thrilled about being there. I’ve seen it all and know how to handle any situation with a smile.
You’ll have the chance to try various poses and backgrounds. Whether you want something classic and elegant or fun and quirky, there’s an option for everyone. I will guide you, but also encourage you to be yourselves. After all, candid moments often make the best photos!

Now, let’s talk about how to prepare for your studio family photography session. A little prep can go a long way in making sure everything goes smoothly.
Think about coordinating your outfits, but avoid being too matchy-matchy. Choose a color palette that complements each other without looking like you’re all wearing uniforms. Soft pastels, earthy tones, or even bold colors can look fantastic.
If you have young children, bring along some of their favorite toys or snacks. These can be lifesavers for keeping them entertained and happy during the shoot.
Make sure everyone gets a good night’s sleep before the session. A well-rested family is a happy family, and it really shows in the photos.

After the session, the excitement doesn’t stop. You’ll get a preview of the photos in about a week and then the rest of your images within 2-3 weeks! You will easily be able to download the entire gallery to your desktop and your mobile device and order as many prints as you would like!
All Studio 29 Photography sessions include unlimited photo-taking during your session, a beautiful gallery of fully edited images, the option to print directly through me, or print wherever you wish!
Once you have your photos, don’t keep them to yourself. Share them with friends and family, post them on social media, and let the world see the love and joy that defines your family!

Studio family photography sessions are more than just a chance to get some nice photos. They’re an opportunity to pause, connect, and celebrate the beautiful chaos that is family life.
