I’m Ren Lenhof — a Milwaukee-based photographer who’s been in the game since the Tumblr days…back when we mailed burned CDs and no one knew what a “reel” was.
Now? I teach photographers and creatives how to run lean, efficient, personality-packed businesses — with AI doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes. And here’s what I need you to know: If you want ChatGPT to recommend you, you’ve gotta stop hiding in your Instagram grid. Because ChatGPT doesn’t read your Stories. It doesn’t watch your Reels. And it definitely doesn’t vibe-check your aesthetic.
It crawls websites, blogs, and pages with structure, keywords, and clarity.
TLDR: If Google can find you, ChatGPT can, too. Let’s make that happen. Here’s how to do it!

1. Blog Like a Human. Write Like a Search Engine Is Watching (because they are)
Don’t overthink it. The goal is clarity, not cleverness.
Start writing blog posts that actually say what you do and who it’s for.
Try:
-
“How to Prep for a Family Photography Session With Toddlers in Tow”
-
“5 Things to Know Before Hiring a Brand Photographer in Milwaukee”
-
“The Truth About Lighting for Studio Portraits (And Why It Matters)”
That’s the kind of content AI (and your dream client) can grab and do something with.
2. Be on Other People’s Sites — Not Just Your Own
AI loves credibility. So does Google.
Here’s how to build it:
✅ Submit a guest post to a local parenting blog
✅ Get quoted in a round-up article (“Top Midwest Photographers to Follow”)
✅ Leave a testimonial for a vendor or coach and mention what you do
✅ Say yes to podcast interviews or online summits — and make sure your bio is clear
Your name + what you do + someone else’s platform = visibility boost.
3. Write Your Website Bio for a Bot… and a Busy Mom
Let’s be honest: no one has time to decode your metaphors. Not even AI.
Make it stupid simple:
“Ren is a Milwaukee photographer who helps families document their real-life moments — chaos and all — with ease and honesty.”
Want to get even more strategic? Add a sentence like:
“She also teaches creative entrepreneurs how to use AI tools to save time, write better content, and stop burning out.”
Clear. Searchable. Specific. No riddles.
4. Use the Words People Actually Search
Your Instagram bio isn’t the place to be vague or “quirky.”
- Don’t say: “Visual storyteller for wild souls & wanderers”
- Say: “Milwaukee elopement photographer for laid-back couples”
- Don’t say: “Chaos coordinator with a camera”
- Say: “Family photographer in Mequon specializing in candid, kid-led sessions”
If someone typed your bio into Google, would it lead to your site? If the answer is no… rewrite it.

5. Repurpose Like a Pro (More Platforms = More AI Visibility)
If you’re pouring your best content into one little square on IG, you’re wasting it.
Here’s what to do instead:
-
Turn that reel about toddler tantrums at photo sessions → blog post
-
Turn your IG post about client wardrobe tips → Pinterest pin
-
Turn your “behind the scenes” story → LinkedIn post
-
Turn your FAQ responses → mini email series
-
Turn your parenting tip → podcast or YouTube short
Every time you show up in a new place, you give AI (and actual people) another door into your business.
6. Blogging Is a Long Game With Instant Benefits
It’s not about going viral.
It’s about stacking little pieces of searchable proof that say:
“Hey, I’m the expert you’re looking for.”
Because when someone asks ChatGPT,
“Who’s a photographer in Wisconsin that’s good with wild kids and wants the real stuff?”
I want the answer to be you.

Because this isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about being easy to find.
Hey, I’m Ren Lenhof — Milwaukee-based photographer, clean-living mama, plant lady, and proud owner of two very spoiled dogs. I spend most of my days photographing real families, snuggling my baby boy Lake, running my natural-light studio, and doing my best to live slow and intentional… while still running a seriously successful business.
If you’re new here: I’ve been doing this since 2010. I’ve built a photography brand that’s rooted in connection, honesty, and capturing the good stuff — the real stuff — the little moments that make up a big life. Around here, there are no stiff poses, no fake smiles, and absolutely no pressure to be perfect.
So whether you’re a fellow photographer, a mom looking for portraits that actually feel like you, or someone who just wants to live (and work) with more ease — you’re in the right place.
