There was a time, early in my career, back in 2010, when I would hit “send” on a contract email from my personal Gmail. Which to me, felt so unprofessional; no branding, no control, lots of cringe. It felt like showing up to a wedding in jeans. After a few weeks of  that, I made a switch I’d been putting off: I moved everything for Studio 29 over to Google Workspace. Best decision I didn’t realize I needed.

If you’ve ever juggled clients, files, calendars, and panic about lost docs, this post is for you. I’m going to share what I love about Google Workspace, what it’s saved me from, and why it might just be the backbone your business didn’t know it needed. Oh, and if you want to try it, here’s my referral link: Google Workspace Referral Code.

What Is Google Workspace — Quick Refresher

Google Workspace is Google’s full suite of business tools: Gmail (but for your own domain, not @gmail.com), Drive for storage and files, Docs/Sheets/Slides for collaboration, Meet for video, Chat, Calendar, and more. It’s the same cloud-powered magic many of us already use, but upgraded for business needs. (Learn more)

What I Love About Google Workspace (Actionable Benefits)

Benefit My Experience / Story How You Can Use It Too
Professionalism Having email end in my domain instead of  “gmail.com” changed how clients perceive me. Register a custom domain, connect it to Workspace, and set up branded email.
Cloud storage & access anywhere I can pull up everything I need even while on a shoot, right on my phone. Move files into Drive, organize by client. Use version history so nothing gets lost.
Seamless collaboration We edit Docs together—comments, suggestions, no more “final_final_FINAL” files. Use Docs/Sheets with clients/team. Enable comments/suggestions.
Video meetings + scheduling I send a calendar invite, Meet link is auto-generated. Use Calendar + Meet combo. Add buffer time.
Security + control Google Workspace gives me admin control over accounts and access. Set user permissions, enable 2FA, clean up sharing settings.
Scalability I can upgrade my plan as I grow, no switching platforms. Start small, upgrade when needed.
Time saved Less tech headache = more time for clients. Start with your biggest pain points (email chaos? doc storage?) and solve them with Workspace.

Soft Call-to-Action

If any of this sounds like something you’d love (and believe me, once you go Workspace, you’ll never want to go back), here’s a little nudge: you can try it through my referral link. It helps you get set up and supports Studio 29 too: Google Workspace Referral Code.

If you want help migrating your files, setting up your branded email, or organizing your digital chaos—I’m always here. Let’s get your biz feeling sleek and smart.
