Mel & Jed ~ Shiocton, WI

6/26/12

Sometimes when and I show up to a shoot it’s like a weird-third-wheel-blind date. Usually I meet all of the couples I work with before the actual engagement session, but sometimes, when distance is a factor, I am not able to. So after several hours of driving (and jamming out to Kings Of Leon) I arrive at Melony’s parent’s 100 acre home and basically look for the people that are ready to smile.

This session with Melony & Jed was not only the aforementioned situation, but also a blind date with the location itself.  I had ever been to this area of Wisconsin.  So, needless to say, I was really stoked before & during (and now editing) this shoot. Melony & Jed were way cooler than I could have ever imagined.

After the session Melony explained some of the plans for the outdoor wedding and her excitement about the DIY decor got me even more excited for their wedding day. This session was amazing . . . I loved everything about it . . . except for having to check for ticks afterwards. 😉
