For those who follow my instagram & personal Facebook feed you may have noticed the home remodel pictures popping up here and there amongst the zillion of Kenzo photos I post.
For the last several weeks Caleb and I have been remodeling our home.
We love going to open houses and dreaming up new ideas to make our home truly ours.
One of my favorite sites (besides pinterest) is DotandBo.com It is a website that is jammed full of inspiration for any living space. You can find modern furniture and home décor ranging in style from mid-century to industrial to bohemian and more. I can’t get enough of it.
It is amazing to see our ideas and dreams come to reality. I am so in love with recreating our home to match our lifestyle and personalities. It has been such a fun on-going activity/project for Caleb and I to work on together. I am so proud that we can invite people over and show them what we created together.
For our first project, we gave the kitchen a face-lift. We tore out the old laminate countertop and replaced it with an American Walnut Butcher’s block style countertop. We also removed the boring ceramic sink and added a deep stainless steel one. The best part of the remodel is our backsplash; we purchased real cream city bricks and had the fronts shaved off so that we could use them for our backsplash. I am so happy with our progress so far.
We are still in the process of deciding what exactly to do with the cabinets. Paint them beige to match the grout? Stain them darker? Remove them and have open shelving?
Any ideas?? Feel free to comment below!
