Today’s On My Mind Monday post is dedicated to my incredible husband, Caleb. Thank you for being so handy, helpful, and patient.
We had a crazy-busy weekend; on Friday, we had dinner with friends at Elsa’s before seeing Jerry Seinfeld at the Riverside. On Saturday, we throughly cleaned our home and packed several bags for donation, I had a hockey game, and then we spent an amazing evening playing games with friends. On Sunday, we had a family style brunch with friends at Brass Alley and then came home and tackled a project we’ve been wanting to do for several months.
We replaced the ugly stamped metal plate at the foot of our staircase with a real return-air vent. Along with replacing the air vent at the foot of the staircase, we also repainted the step fronts with fresh white paint and touched up some scratches and chips in the walls throughout the house.
Being such focal point of our home, I really love how bright, happy, and inviting our staircase is.

Although, we will have lived here for one year come April, we are slowly-but-surely making it exactly how we want it. We appreciate clean, simple lines, and love our neutral color palette. We take ample time to meticulously select our furniture and decor, along with making subtle changes to enhance our interior. We strive for our home interior to be well thought-out, bright, open, delicately styled, and most of all comfortable to be in.
Are you a home-owner? Are you working on any fun projects?
Here are some photos of the before and after. Caleb built a new frame for the new return air bar grill. I just painted and photographed.
